Hope Through Recovery

Romans 15:13, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” At Redwood Family Center we strive to create a community where women and children can heal from the pain and consequences of addiction through hope, belonging and support. Hope is crucial to the recovery process. To see, to believe in and maintain hope is a foundational goal at Redwood Family Center for both our team members and the women and children that we serve. Through hope, life transformation becomes possible. 1 Corinthians 10:13, “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” Many women enter Redwood Family Center believing that they’re alone with their problems and that others do not share similar difficulties. A sense of universality and belonging brings a powerful sense of relief grounded in the universal truths of God and this sense of belonging creates trust and a community of transformation.  1 Corinthians 12:14, “For the body is not one member, but many.” Support and membership are a sense of belonging that defines the individual not only in relation to herself, but also to the group. It is a powerful feeling that one has meaning in relationships and that one is valued. Development of support and membership are particularly important, so that community members feel safe enough to take the risks of self-disclosure and change. This experience is both nurturing and empowering. At Redwood Family Center we strive to create a community grounded in hope, belonging and support through Jesus Christ leading to life transformation.
